Today, from One Nova Care Way...

•    Injuries
Victor Abiamri did not practice (wrist; out since training camp)
Shawn Andrews did not practice (back spasms; out since 9/15)
Donovan McNabb participated in practice (chest contusion; since 9/21)
Brian Westbrook participated in practice (ankle strain; since 9/21)
LJ Smith participated in practice (back; since 9/21)
Kevin Curtis participated in practice (hernia; since 8/21)

•    RB Brian Westbrook took part in the morning walkthrough for the second straight day, and then participated fully for the first 55 minutes of the afternoon practice, before heading into the trainers' room for treatment.  He left the field jogging.  It appeared that the Eagles had planned to shut him down when the did, and that his early exit from the workout was not due to injury.

•    Andy Reid commented on RB Brian Westbrook's involvement after practice for a pool report.  Here are his remarks:

On Westbrook leaving practice w/ roughly an hour left:

"Yeah, that was the plan.  We're throwing him in there a little bit more each day.  He did a little more today than yesterday, and we'll give him a little bit more tomorrow.  We're just being smart with it and adding something every day."

On how the Eagles are monitoring Westbrook's progress:

"Just movement.  How he's moving around out there, and it's been real positive.  He looked real good out there today."

On if Westbrook's on track to play Sunday:

"We'll see, but he's making progress and we'll see how he does here the rest of the week.  Every day has been a good step forward."

•    QB Donovan McNabb made progress today as well.  After practicing on a limited basis yesterday, he worked out fully today.  He was under center for all the snaps with the first-team offense.

•    Offensive Coordinator Marty Mornhinweg praised McNabb for being a tough guy, and playing through the pain in his chest, which still persists.

•    Mornhinweg also indicated that should McNabb's soreness restrict his abilities in any way this Sunday against the Redskins, the Birds' offensive gameplan could be affected.

•    DE Victor Abiamiri returned to practice for the first time since fracturing his right wrist Sunday, July 27th at training camp.  He worked out on a limited basis with the scout squad.

•    DE Victor Abiamiri returned to practice for the first time since fracturing his right wrist Sunday, July 27th at training camp.  He worked out on a limited basis with the scout squad.

•    It appears unlikely that WR Kevin Curtis will make his return this week, given that he still has yet to rejoin the first team offense at practice.  His reps have come only with the scout squad.

•    Although TE LJ Smith claims he doesn't pay attention to the papers, blogs, TV, or radio, he somehow had enough background knowledge to proclaim that the "word thinks [he] sucks right now."  Smith, who says he blocks out the criticismm has been out since the third quarter of the Steelers' game with a back injury, which flared up while he was simply running a route.
