-Injuries:

Victor Abiamri did not practice (wrist; out since training camp; will not play)

Kevin Curtis did not practice (hernia; out since 8/21; will not play)

Reggie Brown practiced on a limited basis (hamstring; had been out since 9/4; questionable)

-The Eagles returned to the Nova Care Complex for their first practice since Sunday’s 38-3 victory over the Rams.

-WR Reggie Brown practiced, but according to him, on a “pretty limited basis.”  When asked about his status for Monday’s match-up with Dallas, Brown said he wasn’t sure.  Not the most optimistic sign…

-Dallas WR Terrell Owens participated in a conference call with members of the Philadelphia media.  The typically unrestrained receiver was pretty tame in his remarks.  Of note, he said that the current Cowboys were ‘way more talented’ than the Eagles’ 2004 Super Bowl 39 team.

-Owens gave a nice nod to the Philadelphia fans.  He said they were great, and added that they “really know what happened, the real deal” about the “unfortunate situation” that developed between him and the Birds.

-Owens shed some insight on how the Eagles managed to contain him for only 2 catches for 37 yards in their final meeting of the 2007 season at Texas Stadium, a 10-6 victory.  He explained that in addition to then-LCB Lito Sheppard covering him one-on-one, FS Brian Dawkins was also shaded to the side of the field that Owens lined up on.

-Head Coach Andy Reid had high praise for the Cowboys, calling them the "best team in the league."

-McNabb made a surprisingly honest admission today about a philosophical change to his game this season.  He’s trusting his receivers more, and acknowledged that earlier in his career, he “would have held the ball and tried to give them an opportunity to create separation…Now, it’s about them making  plays [for me].”

-The Eagles have their eye on Hurricane Ike, which is headed towards Texas and forcing state residents to evacuate.  If the storm turns serious, it could impact that team’s travel plans.

-Andy Reid’s eating habits are strangely intertwined with his history of facing the Cowboys, whether it be as head coach of the Eagles or an assistant coach with the Green Bay Packers.  He said he first realized the Eagles-Cowboys rivalry was a big deal back in 1999 when an old woman approached him at a South Philadelphia McDonald's when he was buying a "little breakfast burrito."  As far as his one of his fondest memories of Texas Stadium, which closes after this season, the head coach referenced the man that made the chili dogs there, who remembered exactly how Reid liked them prepared.  This was during Reid's days as an assistant with Green Bay.

-WR Greg Lewis made a surprise visit to the media work room after today’s practice, and offered an enlightening piece of information.  The word “typewriter” is the longest word that can be spelled by using only the keys along the top row of a computer’s keyboard.

-Pitcher C.C. Sabathia and 3B Bill Hall of the Milwaukee Brewers both attended today’s practice.
